Gregory Bazile Founder, Greenville Independent Film Festival
Gregory Bazile’s life story reads like a captivating screenplay, with each chapter more remarkable than the last. A true renaissance man, he is a distinguished filmmaker, entrepreneur, general contractor, and restaurateur
whose journey is a testament to boundless creativity and remarkable achievement.
Gregory’s journey began amidst the mystique of the Louisiana Bayous, but it was the bustling streets of New York City that beckoned him to explore his creative talents. In the city that never sleeps, he honed his craft, collaborating with esteemed producers, writers, and directors. His education was not confined to textbooks; it was forged in the challenges of independent pursuits and the electrifying atmosphere of Off-Broadway adventures.
Nonetheless, Gregory’s life story took an unforeseen turn when he ventured into the realm of real estate. Transitioning from a promising scriptwriter, he emerged as a highly accomplished general contractor, specializing in the construction of homes ranging from modest residences to grand estates. Gregory’s journey involved the shift from conceptualizing stage plans to the hands-on creation of custom residences, and he even ventured into the management of fast-food establishments. His exceptional adaptability across diverse industries became the blueprint for his groundbreaking comedy series, “Order Up.” This series delves deep into the challenges faced by a small
minority-owned business grappling with issues such as bank redlining, a sluggish market, and the demands of a challenging work environment. Unstoppable in his pursuit of passion, Gregory’s journey took yet another turn as he ventured into the world of comedy with “The Shop.” This side-
splitting series provides a hilarious glimpse into life’s absurdities, brought to life through the character of Chante and the uproarious world of her fledgling salon. Armed with a heart full of laughter and a rare talent for turning the ordinary into comedic gold, Gregory Bazile is not just a storyteller—he’s a comedy architect, constructing plots that reflect life’s quirks in unexpectedly humorous ways.
As the founder of the Greenville Independent Film Festival, Gregory Bazile continues to script his incredible journey. He has created a platform for independent filmmakers to shine, redefining the landscape of storytelling in the South. Gregory’s story is an inspiring testament to the limitless possibilities of creativity and determination, a narrative that continues to captivate and entertain audiences worldwide.
